High Card Flush is an exciting poker variant that pits players against the dealer, rather than against other players. The game is based on the ranking of 'flush' hands, where all cards are in the same suit—either clubs, spades, hearts or diamonds.

Object of the Game

Win the pot by making a flush that beats the dealer's hand.

1. The game begins with each player placing an Ante bet to build up the pot. Players can also make two optional bets: the Flush Bonus and Straight Flush Bonus.

2. Once bets have been placed, the dealer distributes seven cards to each player and themselves, all face down.

3. Once they've received their cards, it's time for players to evaluate hands. The key is to have a flush—a hand of cards all in the same suit—with as many cards as possible.

4. Once players have had a chance to evaluate their cards, they have two options:

• Fold and lose their Ante
• Raise their bet and keep playing the round

5. If players choose to raise their bet, the size of the bet must correspond with the size of their flush:

• Two, three, or four-card flush: raise may equal the Ante
• Five-card flush: raise may be double the Ante
• Six or seven card flush: raise may be triple the Ante

6. Once this final round of betting is over it's time for the dealer to reveal their cards.

Know the hands

Understanding the hands of High Card Flush is relatively straightforward. The game scores either the flush with the most cards in it, or the higher-ranking flush of two similarly sized flushes. For example, a four-card flush of a K-Q-J-10 beats a four-card flush made of a 10-9-8-7

An 'exception' to this can occur if there is an Ace involved since Aces are high and the game follows standard flush rules. For example, a flush of K-Q-J-10 will lose to a flush of A-2-3-4.

After the final round of betting, the dealer must have at least a three-card flush containing a nine or higher to qualify.

If the dealer's hand doesn't qualify:

The player wins their Ante bet. If they made a bonus bet, it pushes to the next round.

If the dealer's hand qualifies:

It is compared to the player's hand.

• If the player has a flush with more cards than the dealer, their Ante and raise bets pay even money (x1)
• If the player and dealer have flushes with the same number of cards, but the player's flush contains higher value cards, bets are pushed to the next round.
• If the dealer has either the flush with the most cards or the higher-ranking flush, the player loses all bets and the round ends.

If both the player and the designated player have the same number of cards within their flushes, then the highest ranking card is used to determine the winner. If both the player and the designated player have the exact same quantity of cards with their flush and the ranking of all cards is exactly the same in relation to the Ante and Raise wagers, all bonus wagers are a push (tie). The Flush Bonus Wager is for the player's hand to achieve a four-card flush or better as listed on the posted paytable. Straight Flush Bonus wager is for the player's hand to achieve a three-card straight flush or better as listed on the posted paytable. Minimum and maximum wagering limits shall be posted at each table.

3.Once all players have acted on their hands, the designated player's seven-card hand is revealed. Each hand is compared to the designated player's hand, begin right of the dealer button and proceeding counter-clockwise to determine the winner.

4.The designated player must have a hand consisting of at least a three-card 9-high flush to qualify. If the designated player does not qualify, the Ante wager will always get paid even money and the Raise wager pushes (receives no action). The designated players does not qualify their hand will remain in view to compare any qualifying 3 card straight flush only.

5.The designated player pays the Ante and Raise wagers even money if the player's hand outranks the designated player's qualifying hand.

6.The Straight Flush wager is eligible to when the player has placed the Straight Flush, Ante and Raise wagers and the Player's hand contains a minimum of three consecutive suited cards. The Straight Flush wager will win when the player's hand contains more consecutive suited cards than the designated players hand or when the player's highest-ranking consecutive suited card beats the designated player's highest-ranking suited card if both the players hand and designated players hand contain an equal number of consecutive suited cards. The Straight Flush wager will lose if the designated player's hand contains more consecutive cards then the players hand or when the highest-ranking consecutive suited hand contain an equal number of consecutive cards. If both the player's hand and designated player's hand contain an equal number of consecutive suited cards and the highest-ranking card is the same, the Straight Flush wager is a push. The Straight Flush wager is evaluated independent of the Flush Wager.

7.The Flush wager is eligible to win when the player has placed the Flush, Ante, and Raise wagers and the player's hand contains a minimum of four cards of the same suit. The flush wager will win when the player's hand contains more cards of the same suit then the designated player's hand or when the player's highest-ranking suited card beats the designated player's highest-ranking suited card if both the Players Hand and Designated players hand contain an equal number of suited cards. If the player's and designated player's highest ranking Suited card is the same, the next highest ranking card will be used for evaluation to determine a winner and so on. If both the player and designated player contain an equal number of suited cards all matching in rank then the Flush wager is a push. The Flush wager will lose if the designated player's hand contains more suited cards then the players hand or if the designated players hand outranks the players hand when both hands contain an equal number of suited cards. The Flush wager will be evaluated independent of the Straight Flush Wager.
All wagers are paid to the extent the designated player's money is in action. For example, all bets are paid to the extent of the designated player's available funds. If at any time the designated player does not have sufficient funds to cover a players' wager: a player's hand will be considered dead, the player's wager will be returned and not considered for purposes of the House Rake.
Note: A House Rake (charge to each player for participating in the game) may be imposed in the following fashion:
i.Upon all players uniformly,ii.Upon all players uniformly and not upon the Designated Player, or
iii.Upon the Designated Player only and not upon any other player; provided that the method and amount for the House Rake are clearly disclosed at the table.
